This site has a specialized purpose: to provide additional tools for searching using Fundaçāo Biblioteca Nacional, the Brazilian Digital Library (BDL).
Through pymeta.org/memoria a user may enter an area, search term, and (optionally) a year range to initiate a BDL search. The search is performed in the background by web-scraping code that collects and persists search results in database records. Subsequently, captured results specific to the entered criteria may be viewed or downloaded in spreadsheet format.
Results from the database records are shown in tabular form and contain information about the publications that contain matches as well as URLs to the match pages (issue images with the search term highlighted in green). The tabular displays may be customized by several types of filters, by choice of column headers, and by row order.
